We absolutely love training in jiu-jitsu at this studio! Professor Andrew is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and so kind with our children. As newcomers to the sport, we weren’t sure what to expect, but it has been an amazing experience. Our child has developed greater discipline and focus through these classes. The class schedule is very convenient, with after-school times and multiple days available each week. Our son genuinely looks forward to every class. Kiana, who helps run the studio, is welcoming, supportive, and especially helpful to those who are new. And Smiley is always there as the sweetest, most helpful paw! 🐾 Highly recommend, and the pricing is great as well!

My 6 year old goes here and has been since November. He absolutely loves it and gets excited for every class. Andrew is a fantastic professor, and the vibes there are always great! Definitely recommend

Two months ago we decided to have the kids join and the moment we walked into the studio we were warmly greeted by Professor Andrew and he took time to answer our questions then invited the kids for a trial class. Needless to say the kids are hooked. His attention to detail and the way he runs the class for the kids is amazing to watch. Coach Josh and his wife also help out and are great with the kids. Thank you for working with our kids and teaching them BJJ. We hope other parents consider this valuable discipline and stop in the studio like we did and give it a try! If you ain’t rollin get strollin!

Kata has everything I want in a jiu jitsu academy - great instruction, very friendly people, and clean space. They teach all levels, and they teach them very well. It's high-level concepts shown in simple but comprehensive ways. It's the best, and I can't recommend it enough. Check them out.

3 years since last review. Update: This isn’t just a gym. This is a process of transformation that made me a different person, and more people than I can count or mention here. It’s doesn’t stop on the mat. Thats only where it begins. The door is open, all you have to do is walk through it. ⛩️

I can’t say enough good things about this gym. The level of experience and knowledge here is unreal. Whether it’s the kids classes or the adult classes, the instruction is detailed, patient, and technical. The coaches truly understand jiu jitsu and know how to break it down so everyone improves, no matter their skill level.What really stands out is the culture. It’s competitive but supportive. If you want to train for tournaments, the coaching and preparation are there. If you just want to get in shape and learn real self-defense, you’ll get that too. This place builds skill, confidence, and toughness the right way. Highly recommend for anyone serious about training.

Hoover Combat Athletics has truly been a blessing for me and my family. This place means a lot to us. Our whole family trains here, and it’s become a big part of our lives. The kids program is amazing. You can actually see the confidence building in them, not just on the mats but outside the gym too. The adult classes are just as good — tough, technical, and always pushing you to get better. The coaches care about the people here, not just the training, and that makes a difference. The pricing is more than fair for what you get. Honestly, finding this gym changed things for us. We’ve grown stronger, more confident, and closer as a family because of it.
